The project eID4SPain19 was presented in the XXIV National Congress of Health Information, which in this edition proposes the slogan “The evolution of the digital ecosystem in Health”. The presentation was given by David de Mena García, responsible for the project in El Servicio Andaluz de Salud. The congress was organized by the Spanish Society of Health Information and all days on 21, 22 and 23 June in Madrid.
The event brought together the main agents present in the sector in order to open a space for reflection and debate around the main challenges faced by the health sector in Spain. The event allowed an in-depth analysis of the scenario of the Spanish health system after the onset of the 2020 pandemic and the projection of solutions in the near future for a better service to society.
The event, however, also addressed other topics of great importance such as the use of information technologies and Artificial Intelligence for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases as diverse and with high impact on today’s societies, such as depression and cancer.
The great success of the event, verified in the call of experts from the main entities of the private sector, the health services of the autonomous communities and the honorary presidency of S.S. King Felipe Sexto, are the reliable proof of the degree of rapport between two sectors whose link will reduce deaths and the extinction of many diseases and that will improve the quality of life of both the actors in the health sector and that of patients and ultimately a society with a greater capacity to face still unknown challenges that are yet to come.
